Miyabi 36 Years Old Ryukyu Whisky is the epitome of Masahiro Distillery’ s exceptional craftsmanship over the last 140 years. Handpicked by the Master Blender, Mr. Arakaki Sunao, this exquisite whisky has matured for over three decades in sherry cask, making it oldest Ryukyu whisky ever produced. For the first and only time, this exclusive release consists of three unique pieces-each of which represents one part of the Hasadera Byobu-for a total of 285 bottles, or 95 sets in the collection.

Illustrated Hasedera Byōby / Artist – Anonymus / Early Edo Period (17th Century)

This rare Byōbu is a 6-panel piece depicting the Hasedera Temple in Kamakura, Japan. According to legend, in 721 AD, two Kannon statues were carved from a sacred tree in Hatsuse; one was enshrined at Hasedera temple, while the other, cast into the ocean, washed ashore in Kanagawa Prefecture after fifteen years. In 736 AD, the Hasedera temple in Kamakura was established to enshrine this statue, and the Byōbu portrays its inception during the Nara period.
